Expe is a unique next-generation Minecraft server. We're literally building a continuation of the original game - updating the gameplay in a true vanilla style while staying faithful to Minecraft’s original logic and feel. At the same time, we try to keep admin interference in the game to an absolute minimum.

The project was created as a social experiment (that’s where the name comes from). There are no strict rules and no massive bureaucratic staff - the players themselves decide the future of the community and shape its destiny. Will the server become a place for civilized interaction, or will it descend into chaos? Finding the answer to that question is the whole point of our experiment.

Our features:

As part of the experiment, we’ve completely revamped the End dimension. We added 8 new biomes, 9 new structures, and updated the old dungeons! And now there’s a boss outside of the End as well!

World generation has been fully reworked. The world now looks smoother and way more realistic. We’ve added over 85 new biomes, volcanoes, natural arches, castles, new villages, updated vanilla dungeons, and a ton more!

We’ve installed a system similar to the Lootr mod. Every chest and barrel in structures and dungeons now acts as a personal treasure trove — they contain unique loot for each player. Even a complete newbie can go into already-looted dungeons and still walk away with great stuff.

We’ve added more than 70 new enchantments! You can find them in structures, from villager trades, in the enchanting table, and through all the regular vanilla ways of getting enchanted books. Instead of traditional land claiming, we have a full system of settlements, nations, and wars. Use the command /land create to make your first colony and start building it up.

As you play, you’ll unlock new skills that you can upgrade through a special menu (/skills). Each of the nine skills gives you permanent bonuses across different parts of the game.

In dungeons you can find template shards. Combine two shards on a crafting table to create an upgraded smithing template. The type is chosen randomly when you craft it.

The server has built-in voice chat (SimpleVoiceChat) and character animations (EmoteCraft). We’re also happy to add support for any mods you request!

We’ve added 4 new combat maneuvers. While holding a weapon, press RMB + LMB to activate them. Switch between maneuvers with the F key. The higher your combat skill level in /skills, the shorter the cooldown.

After you die, a special grave appears at your death location that keeps your items and experience safe for 20 minutes.

Every player gets fast tree chopping right from the start. Just hold Shift while chopping trees to cut them down super fast.
